Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo just dropped a million bucks on his old primary school right after the education minister said schools can take money from politically connected people. The catch is wild, though, because he wants the new dorms named after President Emmerson Mnangagwa and First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa at Dudley Hall Primary School in Norton.
He picked specific construction companies for each building and wants the cash sitting in a trust account managed by certain law firms, who get an extra 50k for handling it. The whole thing came with super detailed instructions about everything from the architects to how staff should dress when picking up a donated school bus.
Minister Torerayi Moyo had basically given the green light for these kinds of donations as long as everything stays transparent and follows proper procedures.
