Wolves ignite Portugal outrage with Munetsi and Chirewa call-up

Wolves bosses packed Zimbabwean stars Tawanda Chirewa and Marshall Munetsi into their 29-player squad heading for Portugal training camp. The pair landed spots among the traveling party as manager Vitor Pereira prepares his team for the upcoming campaign. Both African talents will jet off with their teammates for intensive preparations abroad. The Portuguese training retreat gives players chances to impress coaching staff before the new season kicks off. Wolves chiefs selected the duo among nearly three dozen players making the trip.

Chirewa completed his return journey from Huddersfield Town after spending time away on loan during the previous campaign. The young talent previously featured mainly for Wolves development teams while grabbing occasional senior bench appearances. His pathway back into first team calculations remains murky under current management. Pereira has not revealed whether the player fits into his long term tactical plans. Chirewa faces an uphill battle proving his worth during the Portugal camp.

Munetsi stands on much firmer ground after delivering standout performances throughout his maiden Wolves season. The midfielder earned praise for consistent displays that caught the eye of supporters and coaching staff alike. His impressive debut campaign secured his position within the first team setup. Club insiders expect the Zimbabwean to maintain his important squad status moving forward. Munetsi looks set to play a central role in Pereira's vision for the coming season.
