World of Warcraft Midnight adds housing and demon hunter spec

Blizzard Entertainment provided media outlets and content creators with advance access to the World of Warcraft: Midnight Alpha on Thursday before the public release on Friday. The expansion centers on defending the Sunwell against Xal'atath, who wields the Dark Heart and threatens to extinguish all light. Silvermoon City serves as a redesigned shared hub for Horde and Alliance players with renovated landmarks and new areas such as the Sanctum of Light.

The Eversong Woods and Ghostlands merged into one zone connected to the Eastern Kingdoms after the Sunwell's healing energy revitalized the land scarred by Arthas Menethil's Scourge campaign. Players can progress through three main paths after the first region, and these include Zul'Aman, Harandar, or a continent-spanning quest with Arator. The Haranir become the next playable allied race with the ability to fast-travel through World Tree roots.

The expansion adds over 10 Delves with Valeera Sanguinar as a companion, and eight group dungeons. Three raids launch with the expansion at Voidspire, Dreamrift, and March on Quel'danas. The Housing system allows full customization with architectural styles from Orc, Human, Blood Elf, and Night Elf factions available at launch. Early Housing access begins on Dec. 2 for users who pre-ordered the expansion.
