Yogesh Kathuniya secured silver on Monday in the men's discus throw F56 event at the World Para Athletics Championships 2025. The 28-year-old threw 42.49 meters in his second attempt. Brazil's Claudiney Batista won gold with 45.67 meters. This marked Kathuniya's third consecutive world championship silver medal.
India collected six total medals at the competition. Rinku Hooda broke the championship record with 63.81 meters to win gold in men's javelin F46. Sundar Singh Gurjar took silver with 64.76 meters in the same event. Other Indian medalists were Shailesh Kumar with gold in high jump T63, Varun Singh Bhati with silver in high jump T63, and Deepthi Jeevanji with silver in women's 400 meters T20.
