Yunus presents the Women's Kabaddi World Cup trophy in Dhaka

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus presented the championship trophy for the upcoming Women's Kabaddi World Cup at the state guest house Jamuna, with delegates from all competing nations attending the ceremony. The tournament will take place at Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium, featuring 11 teams including Bangladesh, India, Chinese Taipei, Germany, Iran, Kenya, Nepal, Poland, Thailand, Uganda, and Zanzibar.

The Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation confirmed advanced preparations encompassing security measures, transportation logistics, and accommodation arrangements. Poland joined as a replacement after Argentina withdrew late and earlier exits by Japan, Korea, and the Netherlands, while Pakistan declined participation, citing a lack of readiness.

Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan emphasized government support for expanding competitive opportunities for women athletes. Officials enlisted referees from each participating nation, with five Indian officials joining a technical committee staffed by 10 to 12 Bangladeshi members to maintain impartial officiating standards.
