ZETDC slaps 25 fee on electrical checks

Zimbabwe's electric company ZETDC just made electrical inspections a must for everyone, charging $25 across the country. They say recent house fires and electrical accidents pushed them to check all installations for safety problems. They want to catch dangerous wiring, bad connections, and systems that break the rules before anyone gets hurt.

ZETDC cares about keeping people safe from electrical dangers. Their teams look for issues that might cause fires, shocks, or other hazards in homes and businesses. The basic check costs $25 for all customers, but generator users face extra charges. Small generators up to 100KW need a $5 verification fee; large ones over 100KW cost $50 to verify.

The company created more detailed safety checks with different prices. Small generators under 100KW need a $20 advanced inspection. Big generators above 100KW require a $100 safety review. New prototype generators under 100KW also face a $100 inspection fee. ZETDC warns customers to pay only through their official payment systems, never directly to inspection workers.

ZETDC knows these inspections might bother some people, but they put family and property safety first. They ask everyone to help their inspection teams do their jobs. The company believes that working together creates a safer place for the whole community. All payments need proper receipts as proof of official service.
