Zhitai TiPlus 7100s SSD debuts with faster Xtacking 4.0

Chinese manufacturer Zhitai has released the TiPlus 7100s, a PCIe 4.0 NVMe solid-state drive that succeeds its 2022 predecessor through integration of parent company YMTC's Xtacking 4.0 3D NAND technology. The fifth-generation TLC architecture features 294 layers with hybrid bonding between logic and memory components, delivering enhanced input/output performance, increased storage density, and improved longevity despite the absence of dedicated DRAM cache.

The drive achieves sequential transfer rates reaching 7,400 MB/s for reads and 6,900 MB/s for writes, while random operations peak at 1,500K IOPS in both directions, representing substantial gains of 66 percent and 114 percent, respectively, over the earlier TiPlus 7100. Endurance specifications include 600 TBW for the 1 TB capacity, 1,200 TBW for 2 TB, and 2,400 TBW for the 4 TB variant.

Zhitai is currently offering the TiPlus 7100s through its JD.com storefront in China, with pricing set at approximately $93 for 1 TB, $154 for 2 TB, and $281 for the 4 TB model.
