Zico Secret Plan to Topple Tusker

Kenyan Soccer Giants Set for Big Match.

Gor Mahia coach Zedekiah Otieno sees good things ahead. His team plays Tusker FC this Saturday at Kenyatta Stadium. Both teams want the top spot badly.

Gor is third in the Kenya Premier League with 24 points. Tusker is just ahead with 27 points, tied for first place with KCB.

"We will show fans a new Gor this year," Otieno said. His team can rest more between games. "We get four or five days to get ready. This helps us play better."

Gor comes in hot. They beat Ulinzi Stars 3-0 last month, with Samuel Kapen, Rooney Onyango, and Austine Odhiambo each scoring. Then, they won again, and Gideon Bendeka helped them beat Kariobangi Sharks 1-0.

Past games make Gor feel good. They beat Tusker twice last year. Both games ended 1-0. But Tusker looks strong right here. They just won big against Posta Rangers, 3-1.

The break helped Gor rest up. "Eight games in 21 days made us tired," Otieno said. "The break let us catch our breath."

Otieno thinks his team can win it all again. "Our team has what it takes to keep the title," he said—last year proved him right. Gor won the league with 73 points. Tusker came next with 65.

The match pits two of Kenya's best teams against each other. Fans expect fireworks when these rivals meet in Machakos.
