Zim Turns 45 with Dance Music and Unity Across Provinces

People across Zimbabwe celebrated their 45th independence anniversary with joy. The main event happened at Mutora Open Grounds in Gokwe, where President Mnangagwa led everything. Each province showed off its culture through music, speeches, dances, and displays.

Harare held celebrations at Epworth High School with Minister Tavengwa reading the President's speech. Famous residents Freddy Kapfupi and Mai Nga entertained the crowd with music and comedy. Kapfupi praised the government for bringing these events closer to local communities.

Many people in Masvingo braved cold weather to attend festivities at Nemanwa Grounds. Minister Chadzamira inspected the parade before the army band performed. The crowd cheered loudly when the parade formed a shape reading Zim@45.

Mashonaland East celebrated at Kotwa High School in Mudzi district. Entertainment groups from Zimbabwe and Mozambique performed for thousands of attendees. After official ceremonies ended, locals enjoyed a football match between Tsonga FC and Changara FC from Mozambique.

People shared why independence matters to them. Mrs Nyakusauka called it like celebrating a birthday of freedom. Mr Kambanje hopes the peace continues forever. Ms Kamuta urged young people to learn about their history and respect the sacrifices made for freedom.
