Zimasco Wins Fast-Track Appeal in Rescue Role Dispute

Mining company Zimasco won approval for a quick court hearing challenging a decision about who runs their rescue plan. They want to stop lawyer Wilson Manase from calling himself their rescue expert. The appeal comes from businessman Shepherd Tundiya and his firm Avim Investments. Judge Tendai Uchena ordered court papers ready by April 25 for the Supreme Court. The judge blocked Manase from acting as a rescue practitioner under insolvency laws.

The case will appear before judges as soon as possible. All sides agreed to this schedule without changing their main arguments. Zimasco told everyone involved that previous court orders actually apply to Sinosteel Zimasco, a different company altogether. They filed extra paperwork asking the High Court to clear up this confusion. Chinese officials contacted Zimbabwe's government expressing worry about protecting their money invested in Zimasco.

They asked Zimbabwe leaders to stop anyone from messing with these investments improperly. Attorney Daniel Tivadar represents Zimasco throughout these legal fights. Lawyer Silvester Munyaradzi Hashiti works for Tundiya, Avim Investments, plus Manase himself as they battle through the courts.
