Zimbabwe airports and lodges get a cool new look

Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport in Bulawayo has finished its branding work. Victoria Falls International Airport branding is almost done, with just 10 percent left to complete. Information Minister Dr Jenfan Muswere shared these updates after a Cabinet meeting. These improvements follow the successful makeover of Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport, which ranks among the best airports in Africa. The government plans to fix up Charles Prince Airport next and has started talking with a Chinese company about doing the work.

Dr Muswere also talked about other projects from the first 50 days of 2025. A hotel with 70 rooms at Tamarind Lodges in Kariba is 65 percent built. The 500-seat meeting space there is 90 percent finished. Work continues on Blocks A and B at Tamarind Lodges in Nyanga. Seven small houses and a restaurant at Holy Cross Dam in Chirumhanzu District have reached 60 percent and 70 percent completion. The Lafontaine Conference Room at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Harare has been fully renovated.

The government completed building a camp tent, three small houses, a kitchen, and a Gazebo at Nyangambe Campsite in Chiredzi. A staff house with six rooms is almost finished. Construction of the ten-floor hotel structure at the African Export-Import Bank Africa Trade Centre in Harare is done. The 550-person meeting hall at the center is nearly complete. The cricket field at Mosi-oa-Tunya Stadium in Hwange District remains on schedule.
