Zimbabwe earned more money from selling goods to other countries during April 2025. Export earnings climbed 13.6 percent to reach 662.6 million dollars compared with 583.1 million dollars during March. The Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency recently released these trade figures. Import spending fell 4.5 percent to 781.3 million dollars during the same month. These changes helped reduce the trade deficit between the amount of money going out and the amount coming back home.
The trade deficit shrank to $ 118.7 million from $ 235.2 million recorded in March. ZimStat service statistics manager Mabel Chimhore shared the external trade numbers with reporters. Industrial supplies made up most of the goods sold overseas during April. These materials represented 92.8 percent of all exported products from Zimbabwe. Fuel and lubricant sales accounted for 3.1 percent of total export value.
Consumer goods contributed 2.1 percent of export earnings during the reporting period. Food and beverage sales added 1.5 percent to the monthly export total. Capital goods and transport equipment each represented 0.2 percent of overseas sales. Semi-manufactured gold led Zimbabwe's export products during April. Nickel mattes and processed tobacco products also ranked among the top-selling items overseas.
