First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa earned praise for programs that help female business owners succeed. Her projects teach women about food tourism and farming markets.
Zimbabwe also won important leadership roles within UN Tourism groups. The country became vice president for the next general assembly meeting planned for Saudi Arabia. African nations voted Zimbabwe onto the executive council after receiving more support than eight other countries. Kenya and Seychelles finished behind Zimbabwe during the voting process.
