Zimbabwean Players Shine Across Global Football Leagues

Zimbabwean soccer stars showed up across world leagues last weekend. Marshall Munetsi played every minute for the Wolves during their 4-2 win over Tottenham in the English Premier League. He took one shot as a right winger before helping his team defend their lead from midfield later in the match.

Andy Rinomhota started at right fullback for Cardiff City but left after 65 minutes in their 2-2 draw with Preston North End. Marvelous Nakamba made the bench for Luton Town following his recovery from a calf injury. Tawanda Chirewa came on late for Huddersfield Town during their 1-0 loss to Wycombe Wanderers. Tendayi Darikwa played all 90 minutes in Lincoln City's 1-1 tie against Shrewsbury Town.

Tivonge Rushesha started for Reading in their scoreless draw with Northampton Town. Tawanda Maswanhise was featured for 81 minutes as Motherwell FC tied Hearts 0-0 in Scotland. Munashe Garan'anga stayed on the bench during Copenhagen FC's 2-1 defeat to Brøndby in Denmark. Knowledge Musona entered as a second-half substitute when Al Akhdoud drew 1-1 with Al Taawoun in Saudi Arabia.
