Zimbabwe's Warriors now must slay Bafana or go home

They're back to needing a calculator and a miracle. Zimbabwe's national team, the Warriors, is staring down another early exit after a 1-1 draw with Angola left them at the bottom of their group. They only have one point, forcing a must-win scenario in their final match against South Africa. Angola scored first with a goal from Gelson Dala, but Knowledge Musona managed an equalizer for Zimbabwe. Neither side could break the deadlock again. Angola now sits on two points, leaving Zimbabwe with zero room for error.

The Warriors have to beat South Africa in that last group game, a COSAFA derby, for any shot at moving forward. A win might let them squeak through as a third-place team, but anything less sends them straight home from the tournament. Fans online are already doing the stressful math, joking about the team always needing calculators to figure out their chances. Others are just frustrated, pointing out how Zimbabwe wasted clear opportunities to win the Angola game, saying they should have done better in the second half when the match was there for the taking. The general vibe is a tired mix of hope and deep skepticism about actually pulling off a win against South Africa.
