Zimstat Warns of Fraudsters Posing as Census Officials

Fake ZIMSTAT workers have started showing up at people's homes across Zimbabwe. These scammers claim they work for the National Statistics Agency, but they actually want to steal your personal information. They make up stories about preparing for a national census as their excuse to ask nosy questions. ZIMSTAT recently warned everyone about these crooks through a public announcement.

The real statistics agency emphasized they never just appear at your door without proper notice asking for ID details. Any legitimate ZIMSTAT employee carries official government credentials you can check right away. The agency strongly encourages citizens to demand these credentials from anyone claiming to represent ZIMSTAT.

Anyone who fails to show proper identification should make you suspicious immediately. ZIMSTAT urges all Zimbabweans to contact local police stations whenever these fake agents appear. This growing scam targets unsuspecting households by abusing the trusted name of an official government organization.

Remember that protecting your personal information matters tremendously in today's world. Never give sensitive details to strangers at your door without verifying who they really represent. The police stand ready to handle reports about these impersonators before they can harm more innocent citizens.
