ZRP, POTRAZ launch cybercrime training manual for police

Zimbabwe's national police force has collaborated with the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority to create an instructional guide equipping officers with capabilities to combat digital crimes. Police Staff College principal Edward Tshuma announced the partnership during a recent graduation ceremony in Harare, where 622 officers completed their training programs.

The manual addresses information and communications technology fundamentals, cybercrime investigation techniques and data protection protocols for law enforcement personnel. Officers will begin receiving instruction based on the newly developed materials in the near future.

The college is simultaneously working with the European Union, Reserve Bank's Financial Intelligence Unit, National Prosecuting Authority, judiciary, Zimbabwe Revenue Authority and Anti-Corruption Commission to establish a financial crime investigation curriculum targeting illicit monetary activities, including terrorism financing and money laundering operations.
