The virtual election held on Saturday saw Kananu receive 72 votes compared to Okwara's 58 votes. Francis Openda from Radio Africa Group will serve as deputy president under Kananu's leadership. Agnes Mwangangi won the radio representative position, and Julius Bosire represents academia on the council. Mildred Awuor secured the television representative role, and Linda Bach represents print media members. Martin Masai, Ruth Nesoba, and Mbugua Ng'ang'a earned trustee positions for the guild.
