Zvishavane men jailed for violent robbery, sentenced to three years each

Two Zvishavane residents received three-year prison terms after authorities convicted them of attacking and robbing a man outside a business center in Chirere this month. Emmanuel Mukungure, 24, and Dainley Dayimani, 20, confronted their victim at a bottle store on November 1 before ambushing him during his walk home, according to court proceedings.

Mukungure restrained the man with a knife while Dayimani assaulted him through kicking and stabbing, resulting in a severed heel and broken ribs. The attackers escaped with $162 in currency and a Villaon mobile device valued collectively at $222. Magistrates handed down four-year sentences with 12 months suspended contingent on maintaining good conduct for five years following the victim's employer-assisted police report.
