OECS backs Antigua and Dominica, CIPs are lifelines, not loopholes
The Organization of Eastern Caribbean States is backing its members after the U.S. visa restrictions. The OECS Commission issued a statement supporting Antigua and Barbuda, along with Dominica. They said they respect any country's right to set its own immigration rules, but stressed the historically close and cooperative relationship with the United States. They pointed out how Caribbean citizens have become a productive part of American society, working in healthcare, education, and other vital fields. The group highlighted the deep economic ties, calling the U.S. a major trade partner and source of tourism. On the specific issue of Citizenship by Investment programs, the OECS said its members have been working openly with U.S...
Browne fires back at Persad-Bissessar, defends CARICOM as T&T’s cash cow
The Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda is hitting back hard against the recent criticism from Trinidad and Tobago's leader. Gaston Browne rejected the claim that CARICOM is an unreliable and dysfunctional partner. He argued with concrete trade data, noting Trinidad earned over a billion U.S. dollars from the regional bloc just this year, making it their second biggest export market. He said CARICOM members gave up massive customs revenue by buying Trinidadian goods instead of imports, calling it real regional support. Browne also pointed to security cooperation, like shared intelligence helping fight organized crime, as proof of the bloc's value. He directly countered the suggestion that his country badmouthed the United States to...
Rowley slams Persad-Bissessar, calls her a vassal to U.S. interests
Former Prime Minister Keith Rowley is tearing into the current leader over her foreign policy stance. He called Kamla Persad-Bissessar the most unpatriotic and incompetent leader he has seen since independence. His attack focused on her recent comments distancing Trinidad and Tobago from CARICOM and warning citizens not to criticize the United States. Rowley accused her of reducing the nation to a vassal state, taking secret orders from abroad, just to keep visa access. He said publicly withdrawing from regional positions is dangerously close to fifth-column activity, calling it a betrayal of sovereignty. Rowley also criticized her lack of transparency, alleging she has militarized the country without explaining agreements made with...
Persad-Bissessar tells citizens - stop trashing the U.S., your visas depend on it
The Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago is warning people not to talk trash about the United States. Kamla Persad-Bissessar called it hypocritical to criticize a country that so many citizens rely on for visas and dual citizenship. She pointed to recent U.S. visa restrictions on other Caribbean nations as a clear example of what can happen. She asked which Trinidadian would want their own visa access cut off, telling people to behave and understand where their real security comes from. She emphasized that America is its largest trading partner and oldest ally, unlike Venezuela, which she said has minimal trade. She argued that only the U.S. has the proximity and military power to actually defend the nation if needed. Other regional...

Prime Minister Mia Mottley is basically telling her party to get their campaign gear ready. Speaking at a party event, she strongly hinted at an early election next year, even though the official deadline is 2027. She told Barbados Labour Party supporters they need to be rested and prepared for work in 2026, repeating the phrase for emphasis. She warned them not to be tired when she calls on them, but to say they are red and ready, a reference to the party's color. Mottley pointed to the country's economic stats to bolster her case, citing seventeen straight quarters of growth and record low unemployment. Her party has already started prepping on the ground, nominating new candidates for a couple of constituencies. Political observers...
Persad-Bissessar ditches CARICOM, calls out Maduro and mismanagement
The Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Kamla Persad-Bissessar, just threw some serious shade at CARICOM. She flat-out said the regional group will not decide her country's future and is not a reliable partner. Her big issue is the bloc criticizing the United States while backing Venezuela's government under Nicolas Maduro, whom she called a narcotics-linked dictator. She pointed out new U.S. travel restrictions targeting citizenship by investment programs in places like Antigua and Dominica. She made it clear her government was not part of a recent CARICOM statement that worried about those U.S. rules. Persad-Bissessar said every sovereign nation, including the U.S., has a right to act in its own interest. She thinks CARICOM has...
