Kojima teases hidden clue in OD trailer for screamers only
Hideo Kojima is doing his usual cryptic thing, teasing a hidden clue in the latest trailer for his mysterious OD Project. He told an interviewer that watching the teaser a hundred times might reveal something, specifically pointing to the phrase 'for all players and screamers' as a major hint. He warned he couldn't say more without angering Microsoft's Phil Spencer, the game's publisher. Kojima repeated his claim that this isn't just another horror game but a totally new kind of medium built in partnership with Microsoft. It will use Xbox cloud tech in some unknown way and features a writing credit for filmmaker Jordan Peele. The cast includes Sophia Lillis and Hunter Schafer, though co-star Udo Kier passed away before finishing his...
GT7 still racing strong with 2 million monthly drivers
Gran Turismo 7 is somehow still pulling in over two million active players every month, years after it launched. The studio's head, Kazunori Yamauchi, says the game's current health is the best the franchise has ever seen, with its audience actually growing. This is a first for both the series and for PlayStation. They've kept people hooked with constant updates, the latest being a big Spec III patch. That added a bunch of new cars and tracks, plus a data tool for analyzing your driving. There's also a pricey DLC pack with extra races and some tuned cars. The main gripes people have are the aggressive real-money purchases for in-game credits and the total lack of a PC version, despite years of vague rumors. Yamauchi once mentioned it...
Apple bets big on Samsung as DRAM shortage bites
Apple just locked down its memory supply for the next wave of iPhones by cutting a huge deal with Samsung. With its old chip contracts running out and a serious shortage driving prices up, the company moved fast. Samsung is now set to provide most of the DRAM, somewhere between sixty and seventy percent, for both the upcoming iPhone 17 and next year's iPhone 18 families. The choice came down to who could actually deliver. Even though Apple likes having multiple suppliers to keep costs down, Samsung seems to be the only one that can meet its intense technical demands at the required volume. Their chips are ultra-thin and meet strict power requirements that go beyond normal industry standards, which is critical for the advanced A-series...
Apple’s AI edge fades as memory deals expire soon
Apple's tactic of linking Macs together for AI work is facing a big price problem. They can pool the memory from several Mac mini or Apple Studio computers using Thunderbolt 5, creating a huge shared resource that beats out setups using NVIDIA's hardware in cost for some machine learning jobs. This works because of Apple's unified memory design, where a single M4 Pro system already offers more RAM than a high-end graphics card. The company is pushing this advantage hard, with new software support in its latest macOS to better handle these linked clusters. The fast connection lets machines directly access each other's memory, making the whole group act like one powerful computer. A demo using four loaned Mac Studios showed it could be...
Jatiya Dal boss ditches party, joins BNP ahead of polls
The chairman of the Bangladesh Jatiya Dal just shut his whole party down to join the BNP. Syed Ehsanul Huda signed up as a member at the BNP's main office in Gulshan. He handed a bouquet to the BNP's secretary general, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. Alamgir said the move shows faith in the acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, and the political ideas of the party's founders. He noted Huda had already been working alongside them in pro-democracy efforts for a while. Another senior BNP figure, Nazrul Islam Khan, said it simplifies things to be in the same party and should boost their fight against the current government. Huda himself claimed the country is in a tough spot, with attempts to undermine the next election. He stated he dissolved...
Tarique Zia to register as a voter in Dhaka
The BNP says their acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, will get himself on the voter list this week. A party delegation met with election officials in Dhaka to discuss it. Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed stated the registration would happen on the 27th, a Saturday when commission offices are open. Rahman is scheduled to fly back from London before that, ending a long exile. His planned return flight is on Biman Bangladesh Airlines, arriving at the capital's airport on the morning of the 25th. The party has already gotten official permission to throw him a massive welcome event at the Khilkhet 300-feet area, with heavy security planned. They also have a place lined up for him to stay. Party members are apparently pretty pumped...
Inqilab Moncho demands fast-track tribunal for Hadi murder
The activist group is demanding that a special court be set up within one day to handle the murder case of their spokesman, Sharif Osman Hadi. They held a press conference at Shahbagh, with their member secretary Abdullah Al Jaber saying this is a major test for the government following the July movement. He argued that Hadi was a crucial political voice and a candidate for a Dhaka seat, and that failing to deliver justice quickly would just make people trust the state even less and lead to more killings. Jaber set a hard deadline, insisting the government must publicly outline its plan and agree to form a fast-track judicial tribunal within twenty-four hours. He even mentioned getting help from foreign spy agencies if needed. Another...
Thailand bombs near Angkor Wat, truce talks stall
This is a real mess. Cambodia is accusing Thailand of bombing its territory with fighter jets, hitting areas in Siem Reap and Preah Vihear provinces. This happened right after diplomats from both countries, along with other ASEAN members, met in Malaysia, said they would hold new talks to stop the fighting. Thailand’s story is different, claiming they only did air strikes because Cambodia fired rockets first. The whole conflict over their shared border has already killed dozens of people on both sides and pushed almost a million from their homes. The planned meeting in Thailand was supposed to work out a ceasefire, but a Thai official basically said talk is cheap and they need to see real action. It seems like every attempt at peace...
Court clerk found hanging, family cries foul play
Authorities found a court employee dead, hanging from a tree in Feni. The man was Enamul Haque, who worked as the head clerk for a local sessions judge. His body was discovered near the Fatehpur railway tracks after a local resident who could not speak raised the alarm. His son, Ehsanul Haque Saikat, said his dad left for work early that morning. The son is claiming this was a murder, not a suicide, and wants a full investigation. Police sent the body to the hospital morgue for an autopsy to figure out how he died. They say they will start a formal case once the family files a complaint. An additional superintendent of police stated they are looking into all the details surrounding the incident.
