Cocktail chaos erupts as NCP and Chhatra Dal clash in Shariatpur
Five people got hurt after a homemade explosive went off during a fight between political groups in Shariatpur. The National Citizen Party was doing a protest march for their guys, Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, who was killed, and Motaleb Shikder, who was shot. Things blew up, literally, when an argument started over a motorcycle ridden by a member of the BNP's student wing, Chhatra Dal. Both sides are pointing fingers at the other for starting the violence that led to the cocktail explosion. Local police showed up after getting the call and managed to shut the whole thing down. The march had been moving through the Chowrangi area when everything went sideways.

Cops in Khulna picked up a woman named Tonima, also called Tonni, for a shooting. The victim was Motaleb Shikder, a top guy with the National Citizen Party's worker wing in that region. He got shot inside a rented apartment near Sabujbagh Surgical Clinic on Al Aqsa Mosque Sarani. The place was rented last month by Tonni and some dude pretending to be her husband. Police say Shikder was a frequent visitor. Officers found drug paraphernalia and some personal items belonging to women at the scene, along with a used bullet casing. Indian major threatens Bangladeshi leader, tensions flare
Well, here's a mess. A retired Indian Army officer, Major Sammer Singh Toor, is apparently making death threats online against a Bangladeshi political activist named Hasnat Abdullah. This follows the recent killing of another activist, Osman Hadi. The threat was posted publicly and got a lot of traction, which people are calling a psychological tactic. This Hasnat Abdullah guy is a coordinator from that quota reform movement and has been critical of what he calls Indian meddling in Bangladesh's business. After the threat, Bangladeshi security around him got tighter, and their government is basically telling India to knock it off. For his part, Abdullah has hinted he could rally support for separatist groups in India's northeast, the...
Tk127 crore vanishes, CID hunts murder money trail
The cops in Bangladesh are digging into a political murder and stumbled onto a huge money trail. The main guy they want, Faisal Karim Masud, also called Daud Khan or Rahul, is still missing. They popped a bunch of his crew, though, even some family, for helping him hide. This all started after Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, who was with Inqilab Moncho and was gonna run for office in Dhaka-8, got shot in Purana Paltan. The real kicker is the bank stuff. The Criminal Investigation Department checked out a pile of checkbooks from the suspects. They found records for checks totaling a wild 218 crore taka that were never actually cashed. More importantly, they tracked over 127 crore taka in seriously sketchy transactions through accounts linked to...

Teams from Argentina, Atlético Charlone, and Brazil, São Bernardo, got completely stranded after their final match got axed. The whole mess got promoted by some outfit called AF Boxing Promotion International, run by a guy named Mohammad Asaduzzaman. The Brazilian coach, Edson, was super pissed. He said they only found out their tickets were fake when they got to the airport. His club had to buy the last-minute flights themselves. He even complained to the Brazilian embassy and soccer officials back home, basically...
