Shona offers flexibility when talking about the future. To say, "Later on, I will go..." combine adverbs like Gare gare (later on), Pashure (Afterwards), or Nenguva (in time) with the future tense of "to go"—ndichaenda.
For example:
- Gare gare ndichaenda. (Later on, I will go.)
- Pashure ndichaenda. (Afterwards, I will go.)
- Nenguva ndichaenda. (In time, I will go.)
Sentence examples with translations:
- Gare gare ndichaenda kumba kwangu. (Later on, I will go to my house.)
- Pashure pebasa, ndichaenda kunotenga chingwa. (After work, I will go to buy bread.)
- Nenguva ndichaenda kuona amai vangu. (In time, I will go to see my mother.)
- Mangwana ndichaenda kuHarare. (Tomorrow, I will go to Harare.)
- Svondo rinouya ndichaenda kuSouth Africa. (Next week, I will go to South Africa.)
