In the Shona language (Chivanhu), yambuka means to go across. You use it when you want to say that someone or something moves from one side to the other side.
- Vakayambuka mugwagwa vachienda kuchitoro. (They crossed the road going to the shop.)
- Mwana akayambuka rwizi achishandisa zambuko. (The child crossed the river using a bridge.)
- Mota yakayambuka muganhu weZimbabwe ichienda kuSouth Africa. (The car crossed the border of Zimbabwe going to South Africa.)
- Imbwa yakayambuka rwizi ichitevera muridzi wayo. (The dog crossed the river following its owner.)
