Some good people helped more than 250 workers from many different countries escape from bad people in Myanmar. These workers ran special buildings where people tricked others and stole their money.
The workers went to Thailand, where the army met them. The army wanted to make sure these people were not forced to work against their will. Thailand's leader met with China's leader and promised to stop these bad places from working near the border between Thailand and Myanmar.
The bad people fooled many workers by telling them they would earn lots of money. Instead, they made them trick other people online. Some workers wanted to leave but couldn't unless their families paid money. Many workers said the bad people hurt them.
A group called DKBA helped free these workers. DKBA controls a part of Myanmar called the Karen State. People say DKBA let these bad places run before, but they changed their minds after Thailand and China asked them to stop.
The police want to catch three people who helped run these bad places. One of them built a new city called Shwe Kokko. The company that built the city says it doesn't let people trick others anymore, and it puts up big signs saying this. But people living there say bad things still happen.
