Neville Mutsvangwa Freed from Remand in Fraud Case

The court has let Neville Mutsvangwa go free. This happened after he asked the court to stop making him come back again and again. His friends Ellis Majachani and Simbarashe Tichingana also got free.

These three men had been in trouble with the law. People said they dealt with money in wrong ways. Their lawyer, Oliver Marwa, told the court that waiting for their trial took too long. The court agreed.

The state kept changing its plans about their case. First, they set a date for the trial. Then they wanted to move the case to a bigger court. Magistrate Apollonia Marutya said this waiting was not fair. She told the state they must send papers to call these men back only when ready for a real trial.

The state says these men did wrong things with money from 2019 until May this year. They say the group made Mumba Money Transfer without getting permission. They put ads on the internet and had offices in Harare.

The police found lots of things when they caught them. They took phones, sim cards, computers, and bank cards from other countries. They also found machines that count money, papers showing money trades, and US$3,890 in cash.
