A Harare woman and her nephew were charged with hiding robbery firearms

Authorities arrested a Harare woman and her nephew after discovering three pistols buried in a residential garden linked to a series of armed heists targeting money transfer locations. Tamara Tikiza and Shepard Maisiri appeared before Magistrate Ruth Moyo on weapons possession charges without entering pleas following a police raid that uncovered the concealed firearms.

Detectives acting on intelligence raided Tikiza's residence and learned she had received the weapons from the wife of Clever Chada, who faces robbery allegations connected to multiple Mukuru Money Transfer incidents. Tikiza directed officers to Maisiri's property, where investigators recovered an AUT pistol, a Browning Spatene Depose handgun, and a Patented Colt firearm from beneath the soil. Prosecutor Takudzwa Jambawo is handling the case against both defendants.
