People from the Okpu Umuobo community appeared before Abia State judges about their school land problem. They claim Prince Paul Ikonne forced students away, tore down school buildings, and built his National Agricultural Land Development Authority there instead. Community leader Emeka Ahukanna said Ikonne brought soldiers who made students use the village hall for classes.
The worried residents told officials they had already complained to local government leaders, education authorities, state lawmakers, and Governor Alex Otti about this situation. They mentioned that a state commissioner sent to check the facts was attacked by security guards at the location. Court papers were also filed at the Osisioma High Court about the property dispute.
The head judge, Florence Duruoha-Igwe, ended the hearing after listening to community members. She noted they had already sent messages asking Ikonne to explain his side of the story. The panel will make their decision after hearing both sides talk about what really happened with the school property.
