Accra Gears Up for Blackstar Culture Bash

The Blackstar Experience kicks off May 1 at the Freedom and Justice Monument in Accra. Rex Owusu Marfo, the program coordinator, shared this news on Facebook. This NDC flagship aims to boost Ghanaian identity, draw money into the country, and create jobs through tourism. It plans to run activities all year across many art forms and learning areas.

President Mahama wants Ghana to become the main doorway to Africa for people with African roots living around the world. He talked about this plan during his State of the Nation speech back in February. The program comes straight from the party's promises made before the election. It brings together planned cultural shows, history displays, and art events made with help from businesses, foreign friends, and government offices.

Activities will range from local theater competitions to movie events and street parties. A special Pan-African Month will offer food fairs, fashion shows, plays, and spots for families to visit in Ghana each month. The full plan starts this Thursday at Black Star Square.
