Akena tells UPC voters to skip Museveni

Jimmy Akena is throwing massive shade at the president after getting blocked from the big race. The UPC boss instructed his followers to cast ballots for literally anyone except the incumbent leader. He claims political interference ruined his bid, although officials blame legal technicalities for his disqualification.

Akena told everyone at Uganda House to pick from the other candidates or just write his name on the paper in protest. He specifically wants to hurt the ruling party tally. This directive went viral online as supporters looked for direction.

Insiders claim the Lira City East MP is low-key pushing for Robert Kyagulanyi. They even hung out at Akena’s ancestral home in Akokoro recently. That meetup in the Apac District suggests a serious plan to combine forces against the administration.

Museveni laughed off the accusations while chilling at Baralegi State Lodge in Otuke District. He insisted that he had zero clue about Akena wanting to run until reading the papers. The head of state maintains that the whole mess was strictly a legal fumble on the UPC side.

This quiet alliance with the NUP chief could actually flip the script in the Lango sub-region. Akena still has loyal fans there who might listen to his call to reject the status quo.
