AMD RDNA4 Mobile GPUs About to Smash the Competition

AMD plans to release RDNA 4 chips for laptops soon. A leak shows six new models aimed at top performance levels. The best one will be the RX 9080M with Navi 48 silicon, 64 Compute Units, and 16GB of memory. Its partner, the RX 9070M XT, comes with 48 CUs and the same memory amount. These chips might compete against NVIDIA's powerful mobile graphics cards.

Middle-range options include RX 9070 M/S models from the Navi 44 family. They offer 32 CUs with 8GB of memory. The lower-end RX 9060 M/S variants feature 28 CUs and 8GB of memory. All new laptop models will have at least 8GB VRAM. The company still uses RDNA 3.5 tech for its APUs like Strix Halo and the upcoming Medusa Point. AMD may show off these new laptop graphics at Computex 2025, where people expect to see the RX 9060 desktop cards as well.
