AMD Ryzen AI 5 330 Krackan Point 2 packs Zen 5 power efficiency

AMD releases its Ryzen AI 5 330 processor as part of the Krackan Point 2 family. The chip targets entry-level mobile systems that demand maximum power efficiency. Engineers built the processor using Zen 5 architecture with the fewest cores available on this platform. The company designed a hybrid configuration featuring one Zen 5 core paired with three Zen 5c cores. This 4-core, 8-thread setup operates within a 15-28W power envelope.

The processor delivers 2 GHz base frequencies across all cores while boosting the primary Zen 5 core to 4.5 GHz and secondary cores to 3.4 GHz. AMD equipped the chip with 12 MB of combined cache memory. The integrated Radeon 820M graphics unit comprises two compute units operating at 2.8 GHz, utilizing the RDNA 3.5 architecture. A dedicated neural processing unit provides 50 AI TOPS performance for artificial intelligence tasks. The specifications qualify systems for Copilot+ certification requirements.
