Amitabh Bachchan breaks down honoring Dharmendra’s final film

Big B cried on TV talking about his co-star. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan became visibly emotional during a Kaun Banega Crorepati episode while paying tribute to Dharmendra, calling him a friend, family member, and lifelong inspiration. He discussed the late actor's final film, Ikkis, as a precious memento, stating that a true artist practices until their last breath. Bachchan’s voice trembled as he described Dharmendra not as just a person but as a lasting feeling that becomes a memory and a blessing.

He recalled a specific Sholay scene shot in Bangalore where Dharmendra’s real physical strength as a former wrestler caused genuine pain during a death sequence, making the acting feel natural. Ikkis director Sriram Raghavan, a guest on the show, expressed feeling blessed that Dharmendra worked on what became his final project. Co-star Jaideep Ahlawat added that sharing scenes with him felt like being with family, not a superstar. The duo's iconic roles as Veeru and Jai from the classic film created a celebrated off-screen friendship that endured for decades beyond the movie's release.
