Android 16 QPR1 Beta Gets Mega M3 Glow Up

Google just released Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1 for all compatible Pixel devices. The company says this new test version works well enough for everyday use. This update brings major visual changes to how Android looks. Users will notice fresh designs for notifications, quick settings, lock screens, and the home screen launcher.

Google calls these changes Material 3 Expressive, making everything more streamlined. Anyone interested can join the Beta Program to try these features before the official release. The final version will launch for everyone around September. Users can report any problems through the Android Beta Feedback app, which is available on all test devices.

Many Pixel phones, from the older Pixel 6 series to the newest Pixel 9 models, can run this beta. The update also works on Pixel tablets and foldable devices. Google plans to release more test versions over the next few months with additional features. These Quarterly Platform Releases add important improvements compared to regular monthly updates.
