Apple coldly dismisses Elon Musk's tantrum over the App Store

Elon Musk accused Apple of antitrust violations regarding App Store treatment of artificial intelligence applications. The Tesla executive claimed the company favors OpenAI's ChatGPT while neglecting his platforms X and Grok in featured sections. Musk threatened immediate legal action through xAI against Apple's alleged discriminatory practices. Apple responded through Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman with denials of bias allegations. The company emphasized that App Store rankings follow safety protocols and objective standards rather than preferential treatment.

External evidence contradicts Musk's claims as other AI applications achieved top positions across various markets. China's DeepSeek reached first place in January while Perplexity AI claimed the top spot during July. The X application topped News charts without receiving prominent App Store features according to Musk's complaints. Grok achieved fifth place overall and second in Productivity categories despite recent feature launches. This dispute reflects broader competition between Musk's xAI venture and OpenAI within Apple's digital marketplace ecosystem.
