Apple's iPhone Fold could cost a jaw-dropping $2,399

Fubon Research analyst Arthur Liao projects that Apple will price its debut foldable handset at $2,499, making the device substantially more expensive than Samsung's competing Galaxy Z Fold 7 at $1,999. The premium reflects elevated manufacturing costs for the display panel, hinge mechanism, and lightweight materials, with the anticipated book-style handset expected to move 5.4 million units during its first year.

The forthcoming iPhone Fold will feature a 7.74-inch main screen with 2,713 x 1,920 resolution alongside a 5.49-inch exterior display, both designed to eliminate visible creasing. Specifications call for Touch ID authentication rather than facial recognition, an A20 Pro processor paired with 12GB memory, Apple's proprietary C2 5G modem, and dual rear cameras capped at 48 megapixels. Battery capacity ranges between 5,400 and 5,800mAh, with availability targeted for the latter half of next year.

Liao forecasts 15.4 million total lifetime sales across Apple's foldable lineup based on seven percent market penetration estimates.
