Arsenal has decided to offer Spanish goalkeeper David Raya a new contract with improved terms, according to a report from the BBC, confirming his importance under coach Mikel Arteta. Raya agreed to a deal that raises his weekly salary from the amount set when he signed permanently with the club in the summer of 2024. The contract runs until 2028, with an option for extension, while the agreement has not been officially announced by the club.
Raya, who previously earned about £100,000 per week, has established himself as one of the top goalkeepers in the Premier League, winning the Golden Glove in the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons. Arsenal has also started negotiations to renew contracts for players such as Timber and Bukayo Saka. Raya has played every league match since March 2024, recording 33 clean sheets and a 71 percent save rate, one of the highest in the league.
