Atomic Heart II Dials Up Insane RPG Action

Mundfish announced Atomic Heart II during Summer Game Fest. The studio plans to release the sequel on computers and game consoles. Geoff Keighley said the game serves as a spiritual successor to the original title. The developers want to add more role-playing game features than the first version had. The company showed a trailer but gave no release date.

The trailer displayed a much bigger experience compared to the original Atomic Heart. Mundfish also revealed another new game called The Cube at the same event. Critics liked the first game but felt it missed some important marks. Reviewer Alessio Palumbo praised the solid debut from the new developer. He said Mundfish followed BioShock's example to create an engaging shooter that looked great and ran well.

The story disappointed many players and needed more development. Side content also lacked proper detail according to reviews. Fans hope the sequel addresses these problems. The original game combined shooting action with unique Russian themes. Players explored a strange alternate reality filled with robots and danger.
