Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus presented the Youth Volunteer Award 2025 to Afeida Khandaker during Monday's ceremony at Shapla Hall. The Ministry of Youth and Sports organized the event that recognized twelve outstanding young individuals across five distinct categories. Khandaker serves as captain of Bangladesh's women's football team and plays the centre-back position.
The national team achieved significant victories under her leadership. Bangladesh won the SAFF Championship and earned qualification for the Asian Cup during her tenure as captain. Uchai Mong Marma from Bandarban also received recognition in the sports and arts categories alongside Khandaker.
