Bangladesh Eye ODI Revival Under New Captain Miraz

Bangladesh cricket team faces a tough challenge against Sri Lanka starting Wednesday. New captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz takes charge of the one-day squad for the first time. The team hopes to bounce back after losing badly during the recent Test matches. Miraz wants his players to forget about recent problems and focus on winning games. The squad practiced hard at the famous R. Premadasa Stadium before the series begins.

Captain troubles hit the team when Najmul Hossain Shanto quit leading the Test side. Players felt upset about the decision during their difficult tour of Sri Lanka. Miraz says everyone needs to work together and help each other succeed. The new leader believes teamwork matters more than individual achievements. He wants to build a strong squad that makes Bangladesh proud.

Two veteran players retired earlier this year and left big gaps for younger cricketers to fill. Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah played important roles for many years. Their absence creates problems for the middle batting order that already struggles with consistency. Miraz plans to take more responsibility with his batting position. Other experienced players like Litton Das must step up and guide the team.

Bangladesh rarely wins cricket series when playing away from home. The team lost nine out of ten recent one-day matches against other countries. Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed hurt his hand during practice and might miss games. Spinner Rishad Hossain became sick and doctors will check his condition before Wednesday.
