Barcelona rally leaves Madrid reeling

Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 4-3 at the Montjuïc Stadium during round 35 of the Spanish league. The win gives Barcelona 82 points at the top of the standings, seven points ahead of second-place Madrid with 75 points. Kylian Mbappé scored twice early for Madrid, first from a penalty in the fifth minute and again in the 14th minute after receiving a pass from Vinícius. Barcelona fought back with Eric García heading home in the 19th minute after a corner kick.

Lamine Yamal tied the match with a beautiful shot from inside the penalty area in the 32nd minute. Raphinha put Barcelona ahead two minutes later after receiving a pass from Pedri. Raphinha scored again just before halftime when he stole the ball from Vazquez, exchanged passes with Torres, and shot into the net. Mbappé completed his hat trick in the 70th minute to make the score 4-3.

Barcelona wanted a penalty against Tchouaméni in the 80th minute, but the referee denied it after checking the video review. Fermín López thought he scored a fifth goal for Barcelona with a great shot, but officials disallowed it for handball. The victory greatly improves Barcelona's chances of winning the league title with just three matches remaining in the season.
