BCB vote Oct 6 at Sonargaon, Dhaka, Mohammad Hossain presides

Bangladesh Cricket Board officials set October 6 as the date for selecting new leadership through democratic elections. Mohammad Hossain leads the election commission as a senior Supreme Court attorney who published the timeline this past Sunday. The four-year term positions will shape cricket administration nationwide. Draft voter registration begins Monday evening after nomination activities commence that morning. Officials will finalize eligible voter lists by September 25.

Candidates may purchase nomination paperwork during a two-day window before commissioners announce the final roster on October 1. The Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka serves as the voting venue from morning until late afternoon. Electronic and mail-in ballots require submission two hours before polls close. Twenty-five board members will emerge from various constituencies representing clubs and regional associations. The National Sports Council appoints two additional members while elected directors choose their president. This marks the first leadership change since October 2021, when the previous board took office.
