Bempah says Agyapong will jail NPP galamsey pals

Ernest Owusu Bempah advocates for Kennedy Agyapong's presidential candidacy based on his anti-galamsey stance. The Deputy National Communications Director believes Agyapong possesses the necessary determination to combat illegal mining operations. Bempah argues that political and family connections would not protect galamsey participants under Agyapong's leadership. He contends that government officials engaging in illegal mining would face immediate dismissal and imprisonment. Such decisive action represents the leadership qualities Ghanaians seek according to Bempah's assessment.

The NPP official simultaneously criticized his party's recent vocal opposition to illegal mining activities. Bempah highlighted the contradiction between current party rhetoric and past governmental performance on galamsey issues. He suggested that the Akufo-Addo administration's anti-galamsey efforts were undermined by appointees who allegedly participated in the practice. The party member questioned whether NPP representatives possess moral standing to condemn the Mahama government regarding illegal mining. His comments reflect internal party tensions over environmental policy failures.
