Benue State officials honored deceased former Agriculture Minister Chief Audu Ogbeh during Thursday legislative proceedings. Deputy Governor Sam Ode represented Governor Hyacinth Alia at the memorial session for Ogbeh, who passed away August 9 at age 78. Assembly Speaker Alfred Emberga praised the former leader's legislative achievements and community service.
Ogbeh served as Peoples Democratic Party national chairman from 2001 through 2005 before joining the All Progressives Congress. The politician represented Otukpa State Constituency between 1979 and 1982 as deputy assembly speaker. Former deputy governor Steven Lawani attended the ceremony alongside several retired lawmakers and current senators from three districts who delivered tributes recognizing Ogbeh's political influence.
