BJP MP Khagen Murmu bloodied in TMC goon attack

BJP lawmakers Khagen Murmu and Shankar Ghosh faced a violent assault on Monday while traveling to assist landslide victims in North Bengal. Attackers threw stones and bricks at their vehicles in Nagrakata, Jalpaiguri district, leaving the two-time MP with severe facial and head wounds. Ghosh suffered minor injuries as assailants continued their attack with sticks and slippers until security personnel intervened.

Opposition Leader Suvendu Adhikari accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of orchestrating the violence to prevent BJP relief efforts. Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar condemned the state government for failing to protect elected officials. The attack occurred as BJP members distributed aid following heavy rainfall and landslides that killed at least 23 people across the region.
