Black Coffee drags Nota Baloyi to court, defamation feud spills family secrets

Black Coffee dragged Nota Baloyi to the Johannesburg High Court over social media posts questioning his finances and accusing him of sketchy property deals. The music exec claimed the DJ bought a penthouse from convicted fraudster Lance Cohen for a suspicious amount and later dropped $9 million cash on another spot, which got people talking about where all that money came from. Baloyi also went after Black Coffee's kid by suggesting the star used his son to stash assets during the divorce from Enhle Mbali.

The DJ wants the court to force Baloyi to delete everything and apologize within 24 hours while declaring the statements false and harmful to his billion-rand reputation. Baloyi clapped back with his own filing demanding R25,000 for emotional damage to his mom from alleged intimidation, and he framed his posts as protected free speech about public interest stuff like criminal associations and financial shadiness.
