A group of rights experts asked Tanzania to free Boniface Mwangi and Agatha Atuhaire right away. The two people went missing after police took them from their hotel rooms. Officials said they would send them back home on Monday, but that never happened. The jury members feel worried about where these people are. They want Tanzania to follow human rights rules.
Former judge Willy Mutunga joins other famous people like Rachael Mwikali and cartoonist Gaddo in this call for action. Mwangi won a special award this year with two other rights workers. The group leader, Kamau Ngugi, said many people have already asked the government to let these people go. The two were staying at Serena Hotel when people who said they were police came for them. They traveled to Tanzania to watch a trial for a man named Tundu Lissu.
