Boosie begs Trump for pardon as prison looms

Rapper Boosie is begging Trump for a pardon with days left before sentencing. Federal prosecutors in San Diego want a two-year prison term for his felon-in-possession conviction, while probation officials have recommended a sentence closer to four years. The artist made a direct public plea on social media, arguing the Department of Justice unfairly targeted him after a previously dismissed case was revived.

In his lengthy post, Boosie claimed he is the only person in the country currently facing this specific charge, comparing his situation to perceived leniency for political figures. He referenced a prior ten-year state sentence for minor marijuana offenses, stating he was sent directly to prison without rehab. The rapper defended his right to ask any administration for help, having previously sought a pardon from Biden, telling critics to shut up because he is fighting for his life.

His attorney, Meghan Blanco, has publicly criticized the charges. With his official sentencing hearing just one week away, this public appeal to the former president represents a final effort to avoid a potentially lengthy prison term.
