Bulgarian budget protest sparks civil outcry over fiscal doom

Bulgarian legislator Bozhidar Bozhanov warned that his nation's proposed spending plan poses catastrophic dangers beyond simple fiscal missteps, attacking workers and enterprises while pushing the country toward economic collapse. The PP-DB representative clarified that his coalition's demonstration stands independent from Vazrazhdane party involvement, despite their unsolicited endorsement against government measures.

Bozhanov dismissed accusations that former minister Asen Vassilev breached budgetary protocols, noting pension adjustments merely addressed poverty-level payments within a system unbalanced for decades. The lawmaker accused Delyan Peevski of capturing parliamentary control to seize lottery operations through intermediaries under worse terms than current arrangements, while defending Sofia's parking zone expansion despite acknowledging poor timing and communication failures.
