Buni throws tantrum over empty Yobe shops

Yobe State authorities plan to withdraw allocated commercial spaces from reluctant merchants who refuse to occupy newly built market facilities across three major cities. Governor Mai Mala Buni delivered this ultimatum while distributing food supplies to needy families throughout Damaturu. The administration constructed these contemporary trading centers in Damaturu, Gashua, and Nguru after significant financial investment. Local business owners express hesitation about relocating due to expensive rental costs and concerns about losing their established customer base. The governor emphasized that merchants from neighboring regions would eagerly utilize these premium facilities if local traders continue their resistance.

State officials refuse to permit valuable public infrastructure to remain underutilized while economic opportunities await serious entrepreneurs. Buni stated that traders from Kano and surrounding areas would completely fill these spaces if given access to such quality accommodations. The government designed this commercial development program to elevate trading standards through organized and secure business environments. Any merchant who fails to activate their assigned space faces immediate revocation of their allocation rights. Alternative traders will receive priority consideration for these reassigned commercial opportunities.
